[EPC] Efficient Power Conversion (EPC) Experts Joining Engineers in China to Innovate New Designs by Maximizing GaN FET and IC Performance, More Than Just R
2018-03-08

EPC will exhibit live demonstrations showing how GaN technology’s superior performance is transforming power delivery for entire industries including wireless charging, DC/DC, LiDAR and automotive.

EL SEGUNDO, Calif. — March 8, 2018 — The EPC executive and technical team will be engaged in three industry events in Shenzhen and Shanghai, China on March 14 – 16 in demonstrating and sharing with engineers on how to maximize GaN FET and IC performance in their innovative designs, to win their customers.

AirFuel Developer Forum (March 14 – 16, Shenzhen, China)

AirFuel Developers Forum will make its first debut at Kempinski Hotel Shenzhen on March 14 -16. Organized by AirFuel™ Alliance, top industry executives will demonstrate on how to integrate next-generation resonant wireless power technology into consumer and business-grade products to deliver wireless charging at a distance – giving users the freedom to move devices away from their charging sources and power up wirelessly. Participants will learn how resonant technology make it easier, cheaper and faster to create charging stations in more places – from airports, offices, restaurants to hotels.

On Day One (Open to all Developers), March 14 at the Forum, Alex Lidow, CEO and co-founder of EPC, and Michael de Rooij, Vice President, Application Engineering, will showcase GaN-based large surface area wireless charging system without plugging in. jjPlus Corporation’s experts will join Alex and Michael to answer questions and share their experiences in bringing existing deployments of the resonant standard to market.

The AirFuel™ Alliance is a global consortium of industry leaders focused on enabling and accelerating the adoption of wireless power technology, to deliver the best market opportunities and user experiences. Its goal is to establish a holistic environment for develop inter-operability and open standards that help accelerate innovations. EPC is one of its board members.

Power and Compound Semiconductor International Forum 2018 (Keynote Speech on March 15, Shanghai, China)

Being one of the largest professional events for power and compound semiconductor industry in Asia, the Power and Compound Semiconductor International Forum 2018 will be organized in conjunction with SEMICON China on March 15 -16 at Ballroom 4, Kerry Hotel, Pudong Shanghai.

Alex Lidow, CEO and co-founder of EPC, is the Keynote Speaker who will share with engineers on how “GaN Transistors are Giving New Life to Moore’s Law”. This session will be held at 9.30 – 10 a.m. on March 15 at Kerry Hotel, Pudong Shanghai.

Enhancement-mode gallium nitride transistors have been commercially available for over eight years and have infiltrated many applications previously monopolized by the aging silicon power MOSFETs. In this presentation, Alex will discuss about the state-of-the-art and the expected progress of GaN technology over the next few years, showing that Moore’s Law is alive in the world of power semiconductor technology. He will also enumerate the advantages of GaN over silicon in terms of performance, cost and reliability.

The Forum is a two-day program and contains 4 sessions: Wide Band Gap Power Electronics, Optoelectronics, Compound Semiconductor in Communications, and Emerging Power Device Technology.

Electronica Asia Exhibition (March 14 – 16, Shanghai, China)

Founded in 2002, Electronica Asia is one of the leading platforms for engineers to learn from latest technology development for electronic components, systems and applications.

Join EPC at the upcoming Electronica China 2018 Conference on March 14-16 in Shanghai and see eGaN FETs and ICs used in applications such as DC-DC power conversion, wireless power, and LiDAR for autonomous vehicles. Visit us at the Sekorm Booth # 5336 for hands-on demonstrations and the opportunity to learn more about applying GaN technology in your designs. Peter Cheng, Director of FAE, Asia, will be meeting with engineers and customers at this booth and showcasing our latest technology.

About EPC

EPC is the leader in enhancement mode gallium nitride based power management devices. EPC was the first to introduce enhancement-mode gallium-nitride-on-silicon (eGaN) FETs and integrated circuits as power MOSFET replacements in applications such as DC-DC converters, wireless power transfer, envelope tracking, RF transmission, power inverters, remote sensing technology (LiDAR), and class-D audio amplifiers with device performance many times greater than the best silicon power devices.
